While it doesn’t take long for computer processors (CPUs) to become outdated, they still have life and functionality to offer along with aftermarket value. They are still worth something in a world where technology is renewable. We at BuySellRam.com, will buy CPUs of all brands.
AMD vs. Intel: What’s The Value?
AMD or Intel? Just like Apple vs. Microsoft, it’s one of the great debates among PC users.
When looking at the cost of building or buying a computer, the CPU choice is often what’s the best deal at the time. When looking at price alone, AMD’s chips usually cost less than similar Intel chips.
Basic, affordable A-series dual-core processors, Athlon, and dual-core AMD Sempron processors often begin just below basic price where low-end Intel dual-core processors start. Prices go up as you look at higher-performing chips and Intel’s items are customarily priced just a bit higher than AMD’s.
The pricing scheme between the two brands was steady for a decade or so until 2017 saw the debut of AMD’s Ryzen processors.
The new Ryzen 7 1800X drew great interest with its 8-core processing that made it ideal for creators and gamers alike. Its price has made it very competitive and popular. It was followed by the Ryzen 7 1700 which cost even less while Intel’s least expensive version of an 8-core chip was set at higher.
In 2017 we saw Intel Core i9 and AMD’s Threadripper CPUs doing battle for gamers and fans, both offering greater performance with prices that broke away from the pattern that had been in place for years.
While the AMD Ryzen Threadrippers cost less than Intel’s new 18-core i-9s, when it came to both single and multi-threaded performance, the Intel chips seemed to be the processor to beat. While they cost less, the AMD Threadripper CPUs turned in higher base speeds and handled bigger shared cache amounts. Yes, they need more power than the Intel CPUs with lower peak speeds.
The AMD vs. Intel rivalry is alive and well, each driving the other to increase performance and tweak price to be competitive. It’s a good time for consumers who have many more choices available for mostly reasonable prices.
Have Surplus Processors You’re Not Using?
Here at BuySellRam.com, we buy CPUs in bulk, of all types, and are confident we can make you the best offer for your computer parts.
The process couldn’t be easier. We invite you to contact us or send in a quote request. What you’re offered for your excess AMD and Intel processors could easily offset the cost of an upgrade to an individual processor or a server system.
Experienced businesses understand the value of selling surplus CPUs to their bottom line as they earn a profit. In dumping excess items, they may even lose money in paying for disposal or recycling fees.
Even Older Processors Have Value
We’re interested in your AMD and Intel processors of all types with a particular interest in Intel E3, E5, E7 series, Xeon series, quad-core and Dual-Core/Core 2-duo. Often computer write-offs, or “junks”, still have serviceable processors worth money which means a credit for your business.
Older CPU technology has value too. Many are surprised to learn Intel 486 processors, twenty years old, contain significant amounts of gold and other precious metals that can be harvested from the units for other commodity markets.
Don’t leave money your business could use on the table. Contact us or send in a quote request today for a no-obligation quote. Here at BuySellRam.com we offer a fast turnaround and can make you a very competitive offer.
